Structured scouting

Sentinel, sample, targeted and comprehensive observation types with defined canopy positions, so this week is comparable to last week.

Pest identification

Aphid, thrips, spider mite and whitefly recorded as distinct named pests with counts and locations rather than a free-text note.

Disease records

Powdery mildew, downy mildew, rust, blight and root rot as separate classifications, because the response to each is different.

Physiological disorders

Tipburn, bolting, nutrient deficiency and toxicity tracked as their own categories with severity and distribution.

Incidents and treatments

Pest, disease and contamination incidents tracked from open to resolved, and spraying recorded as a crop operation with the quantity applied.

Observation history

Every record carries the person, the zone, the batch and the timestamp, so a recurring problem is traced back to the round it was found on rather than to a week in general.
